The Humpback Whale, Pilot Whale, Northern
Right Whale, Finback Whale, and the Minke Whale, all await your arrival
in the Gulf of Maine. And, if
whale
watching in Maine...
...you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse
of
the endangered Sperm
Whale.
Many of these incredible mammals are often on
display as
you cruise amongst the thousands of islands that dot the
coast of Maine. However, they are not alone...
The northern Atlantic is also the summer home of
other marine wildlife...
...including porpoises
and dolphins...
...and
many
bird species (you'll LOVE the Atlantic Puffin) that either make this a
stopover on their migratory route,
or a nest for the season.
Also not to be missed when whale watching in
Maine...

It is during the warmer summer
months that whales travel
to the Gulf of Maine to spend the season feeding.
Although their daily schedules and feeding
patterns can be somewhat predictable - so much so that some whale
watching Maine tours even make whale sighting guarantees...
...the whales
cover many square miles of water and at times can be elusive.
But most Captains are relentless and will do their
best to see that you don't return to shore disappointed.
