Traveling to Camden, Maine in December

Camden, Maine Harbor in the Winter
Maine was never the first place on my list to vacation being a 20 year old male. But after just coming back home from my second trip - this time traveling to Camden, Maine in December - I am currently planning my next visit.
The first visit I had there was a two week stay with family in Jefferson, Maine. Jefferson is located on the northern shore of Lake Damariscotta and about half an hour from Augusta, the capital of Maine.
It was a beautiful scenic relaxing spot to spend part of my summer. Every day I would start my day off with a run to the lake and swim in the cool waters. I had the convenience of shops ten minutes away in the town of Damariscotta, which backs up to the Atlantic ocean. I could have not asked for a better summer away from the stress of the outside world.
I have just now gotten back from my second trip where I spent Christmas with more family on the central coast of Camden, Maine. I thought it was only beautiful in the summer, boy was I wrong. Although this is a very popular spot in the summer, I did not have to worry about the crowds or the summer prices on this trip. Just about every shop I went in, and trust me there are alot, had everything in stock and discounted at this time of year.
Being from Iowa I had packed plenty of warm clothes, but was not disappointed when I found myself only having to wear a sweatshirt most of the time. Camden has the feel of a small town with all the smiles you would expect, but the amenities of a larger city with things like a Wal-Mart ten minutes away in Rockland.
I have been all over the world on vacation and this is by far my favorite place to visit. I personally cannot wait to see this beautiful area in spring and plan on booking my flight as soon as possible!
