Maine Fishing Licenses 2013
Maine
fishing regulations regarding licensing are very easy to understand.
In
a nutshell, Maine
fishing licenses are required for...
...anyone fishing in
Maine's
inland waterways,
(see below
for saltwater fishing registration)...
...or anyone who is transporting
fish that has been taken from inland waters...
...with primary
exceptions of Maine residents under 16 year of age and
nonresidents under 12 years of age.
Furthermore, according to the State of Maine
Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife,
"Possession of fishing
tackle in the fields or
forest or on the water or ice of this State without a fishing license
is prima facie evidence of fishing in violation of the law."
So, be prepared and do NOT plan to fish
unlicensed!
Thankfully, the State of Maine has made it easy to
obtain a fishing license.
Through an online licensing
service, MOSES
- Maine Online Sportsman Electronic System...
...it is possible for residents, nonresidents and
"aliens" to purchase...
...and print not only a Maine State fishing
license,
but licenses for other sporting activities, also.
