How is Maine in July?

Many people think of July and August as the best time to visit Maine, not only because of the nice weather but for all of the wonderful activities and events in Maine that are planned during the height of the tourist season.

Maine's 4th of July celebrations, the Holton Agricultural Fair, Maine Lobster Boat Races, Ogunquit Days, the Maine Potato Blossom Festival, the Yarmouth Clam Festival, and many other indoor and outdoor activities are all on the Maine calendar of events for July.

What is the Maine weather in July?

Maine weather is usually very nice in July. Although rain and an occasional thunderstorm are inevitable at this time of year, you will likely experience lots of sunshine and warm temperatures.

During the summer, due to water temperature that is colder than the air, the coast of Maine is prone to early morning fog. However, when this happens, it usually burns off as the day progresses - and when it doesn't, it adds an interesting dimension to a Maine coastal vacation.

How is the Maine lobster in July?

The Maine lobster season is well underway in July and if you are vacationing along the coast, you are almost assured of catching a glimpse of a working lobster boat.

To get a closer look at the boats and fishermen hauling their traps, you may want to embark on one of the many sightseeing cruises that seasonally sail the Gulf of Maine.
