Halloween Events in Maine
Halloween 2011

Ghosts and goblins are no strangers to Maine. And why should they be? Even horror and suspense novelist Stephen King, calls Maine home. Supernatural spirits feel very comfortable here. And they are out in full force for the peculiar Halloween events in Maine.

Well before Halloween night, October 31st...

...spirits of the dead are visiting Maine haunted houses, keeping pace on lantern lit ghost tours, and lurking in hayfields...

...hoping to scare the living daylights out of unsuspecting souls, as they enjoy an otherwise peaceful Halloween hayride.

For the faint of heart there are plenty of other activities and events in Maine for Halloween. Not every hayride encounters a fabled Maine ghost (I think!).

Some hayrides simply take groups on a leisurely fall foliage ride through colorful pumpkin patches. And many other Maine Halloween events are well suited for big and little kids alike.

Halloweenfests and October festivals throughout the month provide a full schedule of family entertainment built around the best things to do in Maine in the Fall.
