Funtown Splashtown USA

Funtown Splashtown USA in Saco, Maine is a MUST when visiting the Old Orchard Beach area of Maine. It's just a few short miles from the beach, turnpike and hotels in the area, and you'll want to plan to spend a full day there. We never go to Maine and don't make it a point to stop there. It's been a staple in Maine since 1967!

One of the great things about Funtown Splashtown USA is the variety of options that you have in terms of both pricing and type of experience.

You can elect to either spend your day riding the amusement rides in Funtown, or the massive 18 water slides and pools in Splashtown, or purchase a combo pass and enjoy both.

I've always paid the little bit extra for the combo pass, because on a hot summer day of riding on the Excalibur roller-coaster and the Dragon's Descent drop ride, it's nice to be able to cool off at the water attractions.

As a family with young children, I also appreciate the care that they've taken in making sure that there are rides for all age groups. Even at three years old, my son had a variety of rides and games aimed at the preschool level to keep him amused for hours.

The same can be said for Splashtown, with wonderful fast slides for older children and adults but ample wading pools with water features like sprinklers and fountains for family members not yet ready to jump on a float.

They've been expanding and have added a lot since they opened in 1967. They added Splashtown in 1996, and have been consistently added attractions every year. They opened up a new roller-coaster called The Wild Mouse in May of 2009, and though I haven't ridden it yet, I'm sure it'll be a blast.

Overall, if you're looking for a day jam packed with fun you can't beat the park. They have discounted rates for large groups, have plentiful places to grab a snack or meal, plenty of free parking and a Weather Guarantee where you can make up any lost time if the occasional storm comes through.
