Cooks Lobster House

Lobster and Seaweed Only 13 miles from Brunswick - along Route 24, on Bailey Island, Maine - is one of the most picturesque places in New England to enjoy a Maine lobster dinner, or any other meal for that matter.

Surrounded on three sides by water, Cooks Lobster House sits on its own peninsula of land off the larger peninsula that connects Great Island, Orr's Island and Bailey Island.

You'll know you've arrived at Cook's Landing, also known as Cook's Point, when you cross the one-of-a-kind Bailey Island Cribstone Bridge - connecting Orr's to Bailey - and the salty air takes on the smell of lobster, shrimp, scallops, haddock and clams.

The famous restaurant is just off to your right, as it has been for over 50 years...

Wait a minute! Why not let Maine's own PotatoePete tell you, with his "Cooks Lobster House You Can Get There from Here" Video!

Capturing the true spirit of a local landmark is not always easy, but this PotatoePete video certainly makes a fine attempt at doing so!

Thanks to YouTube and PotatoePete for letting us know almost everything there is to know about Cook's Lobster on Bailey Island. But just in case there was an oversight...

Visiting Cooks Lobster Restaurant

Open 7 days a week, year-round, Cook's Restaurant is not only loved for its fabulous fresh seafood - and a view so panoramic that every seat has one - but has become a popular Maine tourist attraction for many other reasons.

For starters...

Cook's is easy to get to. It is just over a half hour from Brunswick, Maine in a location ideal for coastal photography, weddings, family reunions, company parties, and probably best of all - Cook's lobster bakes!.

With a small beach, a wharf overlooking the marina, and Cook's Gift Shop - filled with crafts, artwork and nautical paraphernalia - Cook's Point is also a great place to relax, before or after dining.

And if you still have a craving for lobster when you leave, you can buy one of their tempting crustaceans, right from the docks. Cook's will also pack and ship its fresh Maine lobster, wholesale and retail, to anywhere in the United States. This means...

You can enjoy Bailey Island lobster from home, any time of year!

Year round Cook's Landing is host to a number of fun family events. If you are into fishing, during the last week of July you will not want to miss the annual Casco Bay Tuna and Sport Fishing Tournament.

And for several weeks during the summer season...

At mid-day, you can catch the Casco Bay Lines Bailey Island Noontime Cruise - otherwise known as the Cooks Lobster House Noontime Cruise. From the wharf at Cook's Point you will embark on a 1 hour and 45 minute excursion through Potts Harbor, past Eagle Island, Haskell Island and Mackerel Cove.

Awaiting your return will be a Cook's menu filled with some of the best seafood you have ever tasted! Enjoy it indoors, or seated on the outdoor deck, while watching decorative international flags flap in the Casco Bay breeze.
