It's a Citywide Yard Sale, "the LARGEST in Maine!", as residents, businesses and non-profits hold yard sales throughout the city of Bath, Maine. Downtown will host a tent sale, sidewalk sales, and the Downtown Scavenger Hunt. There will also be face painting, crafts, a bake sale and the Bath Skate Park Barbecue.

The Ogunquit AIDS Walk date is confirmed for May 12th. I am awaiting confirmation of events on the May 11th and 13th.

The 2011 AIDS Walk Weekend was a three day event. Formerly Ogunquit Cinco de Mayo Weekend, the Ogunquit AIDS Walk and Run event is three days of activities to raise funds and awareness for the Frannie Peabody Center - a non-profit local AIDS service organization.

The weeklong Bar Harbor, Maine celebration begins on Saturday with a Pub Crawl to participating restaurants. Sunday, means Mother's Day Brunch, and the at many local restaurants a $20.12 menu will be offered. Thursday is Dessert Night, Friday will feature a Chef's Table, and the Merchant's Association will be sponsoring a Sidewalk Sale on Saturday.

The Portland Sea Dogs, Intermed and the Maine Track Club will host the 13th Annual Mother's Day 5K race in Portland, Maine. Proceeds from the race benefit Maine Breast Cancer Patients and Research.

"Slugger and his Mom lead the way on the flat 5K course which begins in front of the Portland Expo building, travels down Congress Street, turning down Stevens Avenue, and making a right onto Brighton Avenue back down Deering Avenue into Fitzpatrick Stadium. The race culminates inside Hadlock Field in front of the third base dugout."

Bring your children. There will also be a free Kid's Run!

Each spring the Moosehead Lake Region hosts a month long celebration of the area's favorite resident - the Maine Moose!

Events take place in and around the Greenville, Maine area, during the time of the year when moose are most visible.

Past events have included the Moose River Canoe Race, Moosterpiece Craft Fair, Moose Mainea Kid's Fun Day (see listing below for May, 26, 2012)...

...Famous Moose Tales, a Quest Fest, and the Chamber of Commerce's Annual Moose Photo Contest. The 2012 Moose Mainea events will likely feature much of the same.

Where: Begins in Washburn, Maine (Thomas Brewer Park) and ends in Presque Isle, Maine (Fish and Game Club) - Map

A family oriented event the Aroostook River Canoe and Kayak Race will take place over an 8-mile flat water run from Washburn to Presque Isle. The event, sponsored by the Presque Isle and Washburn Rotary Clubs will also feature lunch and awards.

There will also be a bicycle Poker Run along the rail trail that follows the river to the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club.

The Friends of the Cumston Library sponsor the Monmouth Fair that includes the sale of hundreds of flowering annuals, vegetable seedlings, home-grown perennials, and hanging baskets. Other events will include a bake sale, book sale, a quilt raffle, and the Monmouth Museum birdhouses sale.

Bee Keeping and Worms and Composting demonstrations are also on the calendar of events along with Helen's lobster roll lunch, hot dogs and hamburgers!

This event is part of the Annual Moose Mainea (see Moose Mainea listing May 18th to June 17th). Area crafters will hold their annual craft fair in downtown Greenville, with lots of moose memorabilia and collectibles on display.

Along with the Craft Fair, Moose Mainea Kid's Fun Day is filled with great children's events and games.
