The Villages of Stratton and Eustis, Maine will host a variety of fun winter events. A silent auction, chili, chowder and stew contests, a cribbage tournament, 8th grade polar breakfast, a cardboard sled slide, and other events are all planned as a way to fight the winter blues!

Canceled (no rescheduled) - Greenville, Maine will be the beginning and end point for the 30 and 100 mile Sled Dog Race. Fun family activities and events will be taking place all day, with a roaring bonfire welcoming the 100 mile runners back to Greenville.

The Muddy River Sno-Seekers Snowmobile Club will once again have its Winter Carnival at Long Lake Marina in Naples. Food, children's activities and other family events will be part of the two day festivities.

The Camden Snow Bowl will host the 22nd Annual Toboggan Championships, a fun event with pancake breakfasts, a chili challenge AND a chowder challenge, a costume contest, fireworks over Camden Harbor, and of course, toboggan races.

Although the schedule of events for Ogunquit Mardi Gras 2012 has not yet been posted (as of this writing), the 2011 event included parades, costumes, plenty of great food, a Mardi Gras and Queen crowning competition, and many other traditional Mardi Gras celebration activities. Previously the festival has included a Pancake Breakfast, Craft Fair, Children's Scavenger Hunt, Girl Scout Cookie and Bake Sale, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, Fire Prevention Presentation, Children's Activities and Face Painting, Snowshoe Races, Soup Tasting Contest and a Cocoa Bar and Cookie Sale.

The full schedule of events for the Kennebunk Winterfest 2012 should be on the Town of Kennebunkport website, early in February.
