Activities and Events in Maine
August 2010
August typically brings warm
temperatures, lots of sunshine, and more things to do in Maine than at
any other
time of year. As a matter of fact...
...there are so
many activities
and events in Maine, August 2010 that you may have a
difficult
time deciding just how to spend your Maine vacation.
Maine state fairs with agricultural exhibits,
crafts shows, ox pulls, pig scrambles, giant size Midway's, parades,
fireworks displays, and plenty of family activities are scheduled
throughout the month. And from the coast of Maine to its mountains...
...activities and events in Maine, August 2010
include lots of celebrations and festivals, featuring two of Maine's
most popular foods - Maine
wild blueberries and the decadent Maine
lobster!
For other entertainment, outdoor concerts
(including a bluegrass festival and a jazz festival), lobster boat races,
an
in-water boat show, antique shows, and plenty of other summer
activities are on the Maine
calendar of events for August.
What if the Maine weather in August
is not
as nice as you planned? Although most of the activities and
events in Maine, August 2010 will be held outdoors, and not necessarily
considered "rainy day activities", you will often find tents and
other shelter nearby that can serve as a temporary escape. If
you plan ahead, and bring an umbrella or hooded jacket, a little
rain should not dampen the fun!
