In its third year the Lewiston-Auburn Film Festival - LAFF - promises to be an exciting film extravaganza. The three day event will include a Gala Dinner, Awards Show and Concert, Movie Screenings and Q&A's, and of course, many great films!
The show features dozens of vendors, selling "all things gardening" along with beautifully landscaped gardens. Various presentations throughout the event, for adults and children, make this an educational experience, as well.
Is there a better way to mourn the end of ski season in Maine and celebrate the arrival of Spring than with a giant beach party - the Parrothead Festival at White Cap Lodge - along with Pond Skimming, Key Lime Pie, and a Fireworks Show!
In honor of the 150th Anniversary of the Incorporation of their town on March 25, 1863, Columbia Falls is celebrating with a Grand Costume Ball, on April 6th...
...and a 150th Celebration Weekend, on June 28th, 29th and 30th (see June events in Maine for details).
The Costume Ball will be held at Union Hall from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Period dress from 1863 is suggested.
Portland, Maine will certainly be celebrating International Pillow Fight Day. Feathers begin to fly in Monument Square at 3:00 PM. The event is free and open to all age groups.
Chocolate lovers from all around will join together on April 7th at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine to celebrate a decadent favorite. Restaurants, candy shops and Chefs in Cumberland and York counties will be represented.
The event will also include raffles for prizes donated by local businesses. All proceeds from the event will be used for to benefit the Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine - SARSSM.
Beginning on Thursday the Reggae Festival at Sugarloaf Mountain will have an excellent lineup of Reggae and hip-hop musicians. You'll definitely want to join the party as fireworks and music kick off the popular annual event.

The Kora Shriners are celebrating their 60th anniversary of presenting wonderfully entertaining shows, for kids AND their parents!
The Lewiston circus will be held at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, ME.

The Annual Ogunquit Patriots Day Weekend celebration takes place at various venues throughout Ogunquit, ME. Live entertainment and a Beach Bazaar, where over 50 vendors display their wares, will be just a couple of the 2013 Patriots Day celebration highlights.
Local breweries, Pat Peppin’s Blue Ribbon Band (singer and saxophonist), food and prizes will all be part of the 5th Annual Augusta Brew Fest.
Paul Fuller Promotions will sponsor four Antique Shows at the Bath Middle School on Congress Avenue - one each in January, February, March and April. The shows promise to not only be interesting, but educational as well, with an expert on hand at each event.
An annual event, the Portland Kora Shriners Circus 2013 will thrill little kids and big kids alike, just as it has for years and years!
The circus will be held at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME
Spring is an exciting season on a farm. Do you have children in grades 1-5 that would love a fun Maine vacation week event to look forward to?
Wolfe's Neck Farm in Freeport, ME is running a fun and educational day camp for kids the week of April 15-19. Along with making new friends, your child will be conducting science experiments, making mini take home greenhouses, searching creeks for amphibians and reptiles, playing forest games while keeping an eye out for tell tale signs of the emerging spring, learning the various processes that wool goes through, getting practice in showmanship skills with the farm's lambs
Pre-registration is required as space is limited. April Vacation Camp costs $60/day/$260 week.

The day begins with Urban Runoff, a 5K race that takes runners along streets of Portland neighborhoods and through a portion of the Portland Trail's system. Later, at Deering High School, community members will have an opportunity to be hands on in water activities, " learn steps to becoming a green neighbor and have an all-around good time".
Visit with 25 Mineral, Gem, Fossil and jewelry dealers at the Alfond Center at Saint Joseph's College of Maine - 278 Whites Bridge Road.

...Silent auctions, door prizes, a Children's area with Mini-mine and spin wheel, Demo of gold panning, cabbing and wire wrapping, Mineral and fluorescence mineral displays and Grand prizes. Hours are Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4: Adults $4, Seniors and 17 under $3. Children 12 and under free.

In commemoration of National Park Week the National Park Service has waived entrance fees for anyone visiting Acadia (and other national parks across the U.S.).
By doing so, the NPS hopes that American's will have an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and history that lives in these protected areas.
The weather in Bar Harbor and Acadia is still chilly at this time of year...
...but it can be perfect for hiking and taking in the sites - especially when it's free!
If you're looking for a unique Maine festival you've found one when Boothbay Harbor celebrates a new fishing season. Previous festival schedules have included a Miss Shrimp Pageant, Cod Fish Relay, Lobster Trap Hauling, Dory Bailing, Lobster Crate Running, Tug of War, Fish Fry and a Blessing of the Fleet!
The schedule for the 2013 Belfast Free Range Music Festival is to be announced in the weeks prior to the event, but as usual it will include lots of great original music. Groups in all genres, from bluegrass to rock, to a cappella and hip-hop, will be performing at various venues in Belfast.
Educational programs, displays, bird walks, and games are typically among the fun events for both adults and children held annually at Bradbury Mountain State Park and Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park.
Over 100 exhibiters, including local builders and contractors, home improvement stores, appliance and electronics dealers, service providers, and many others, will be on hand at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee at 190 Birch Street in Lewiston to provide you with creative ideas for building, remodeling and home improvements.

The Saco Jet Twirlers are hosting Designer Bag Bingo at the Rochambeau Club of Biddeford at 329 South Street. It's just like playing regular Bingo except instead of winning cash you win a designer bag - Coach, Vera Bradley, etc.
Donation $20 per ticket with pre-registration. $30 per ticket at the door. Ticket includes 12 Bingo games with a designer bag going to winner. 10 regular games (24 cards each) 2 specialty games (2 cards each). Additional specialty cards available for purchase at the door.
